Best of the Year, Pt. 4
I was amused by Three 6 Mafia's win of the Best Song Oscar - and I love the song - but I still think that the wonderful Dolly Parton's wonderful, lyrically layered Travelin' Thru should have won.
Speaking of lyrically layered, the Scissor Sisters' I Can't Decide is the best vaudeville-tinged disco song about a psychopath deciding what to do about his sociopathic soon-to-be-VERY-ex-boyfriend, ever. It's one of those that's all of 2 and a half minutes long, and when it ends, you're still ready to sing along with three more verses. And from the same CD, Don't Feel Like Dancing, is such pitch-perfect disco that it reminds me of my seventies childhood.
