Reebs

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Columbus, Ohio

I went back Sunday, determined to do it right once and for all. I really threw myself into it, did everything I could.

The white balance, I found out later, had been set to "tungsten." I'm good at that.

Anyway, with a little correction, they turned out ok.

Thanks to somebody who brought up the movie, I now have the entire Chicago soundtrack blaring through my head over and over again. (Again. When it was initially released, I nearly wore out the CD. I even got a speeding ticket because of "Overture/And All That Jazz.") There's just something about Kander and Ebb.

Catherine Zeta-Jones - Overture/And All That Jazz

Speed Kills.

Thank you so much, Karen, and Bob, not only for the high praise, but for Bob's white balance reassurance. :)

For sure, getting in closer was the key to really picking up all the fine weathered, electrical detail. What was Reeb's originally anyway?

It was apparently, a long-lived, beloved restaurant when this was a financially viable area. It's been in rough shape for a while now.

There are a few more close shots of it here and here with two Holga shots here and here.

Disclaimer:

Music is posted for a short time, and while I use it in part to (hopefully, though not always) go along with the theme of the photo, I also post it in hopes someone will give it a try and fall in love with it as I have. Perhaps they will then seek out more by the artist and buy more cds. That's how it works with me, anyway. If you like it, pick it up at the store; support the artists you love.
