Sometimes,

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

all you need is the spire, when the light's right. Like how sometimes you just need a bite of frosting, instead of a whole slice of cake.

And Sometimes all you need is a spire with a giant gorilla at the top holding a screaming Fay Wray.
Very nice photo, is the entire structure red brick too?

You'd love the old Lemp Brewery District here in St Louis, red brick everywhere, it's magical:

Yep, it is!

Ok, I followed that link and first saw that immense, fabulous brick silo structure. WOW. Never seen one in brick before.

Then I realized, I've heard of that place before - there's a famous haunting associated with it!

... so have you been to check out the haunting?

We used to go every October until they closed it all off. They would turn the old brewery sub cellars into a Halloween haunted house. Terrifying place even without all the masks and hired help.

The Lemp Mansion has great sunday brunch, we went a few months ago. They do Murder Mystery Dinners too that sound like alot of fun:

Our band practice space is directly across the street from the old silo. It looms over everything in the area like an ominous brick giant. You gotta see it in person to believe it.

Sounds fun! In a "reading about other people doing it" sort of way. And Steve, if you're spending that much time with that silo looming over you, I'm going to need to see some pictures.

Greer, welcome! After your kind words on your blog, you are always welcome here! Thank you kindly.

Disclaimer:

Music is posted for a short time, and while I use it in part to (hopefully, though not always) go along with the theme of the photo, I also post it in hopes someone will give it a try and fall in love with it as I have. Perhaps they will then seek out more by the artist and buy more cds. That's how it works with me, anyway. If you like it, pick it up at the store; support the artists you love.
