Today's the third birthday for AEAE. I know I say this every year, but it's truer every year: I can't believe I've stuck with anything this long.
Since I can't seem to come up with a fitting photo, it's just the music today.
Gary U.S. Bonds - Quarter to Three
Three Dog Night - Mama Told Me Not To Come
The Three's Company Theme
Trio - Da Da Da
Lotte Lenya - Mack the Knife (from the Threepenny Opera)
Thanks to each and every one of you who have commented, visited, linked to me, etc.: without you guys and your continued interest, this would have been the year I packed it in. I was so ready to several times, but every time, someone would say or do something that kept me from it. Well, that and imagining what October would be like without it.
Any Major Dude With Half a Heart has featured me shamelessly so many times on his blog I get a reflexive blush whenever I load a new page over there, and Davy has done similar over at Ghost of Electricity.
Karen just posted a lovely little tribute to me elsewhere as well. And I can't believe I almost forgot, but Joe has linked people over here several times too. Thanks y'all - you guys are the best.

This blog turned two on the 19th! I cannot believe that (minor exceptions like this last crazy week aside) I've stuck with it this long. I cannot believe that those of you who come by regularly have stuck with it either.
Thanks to all of you who have commented, downloaded, and bookmarked. You all are the cat's jammies.
In the time since I started this, I've gone from using only a little point and shoot to owning and using a DSLR, an SLR, an instamatic, a Holga, and a $3 panoramic. I no longer haunt cemeteries all year long, but I do still hold Halloween in my heart all year long and now look forward to celebrating it with a bunch of fellow bloggers for a whole month every year. I've discovered how much I adore old fashioned ice cream stands and drycleaners.
Speaking of my fellow Halloween bloggers, several have become regular, all-year-long friends, and one of them - a real life graphic designer, no less - has made one of my fondest wishes for this blog come true. Thank you, Karswell for creating my spiffy new banner! I loves it very much.
Last year, I posted the top ten most downloaded songs all year, and the number of downloads never topped 15, I think. I will do the same for this last year, and the numbers have indeed grown a bit! The vast majority of the most-downloaded were songs I posted for either Halloween or Christmas, which surely means ... something, I guess.

Disclaimer:
Music is posted for a short time, and while I use it in part to (hopefully, though not always) go along with the theme of the photo, I also post it in hopes someone will give it a try and fall in love with it as I have. Perhaps they will then seek out more by the artist and buy more cds. That's how it works with me, anyway.
If you like it, pick it up at the store; support the artists you love.
