Happy Administrative Professionals Day

Do something nice for your admin today. God knows we deserve it.

And I had better not hear any of that "it's a trumped up Hallmark holiday / you get paid, don't you, that's thanks enough / you're just lucky to have a job in this economy" business, because bitches I will lay you out flat.

Uh, sorry. I love my job, but it's been extra stressful lately.

Dolly Parton - 9 To 5

Todd Rundgren - Bang On the Drum

Lou Reed - Don't Talk To Me About Work

The Proclaimers - Five O'Clock World (Does anyone have the Vogues' version?)

Devo - Working In a Coal Mine

Use that link to hear the track. It’s the first track on the list. I don’t use Rhapsody myself, but a place to hear it. Beware of the “rerecorded” stuff that is out there. That’s all they have at iTunes. Ick! I have this album on vinyl from yesteryear, but…Hope you had a good “stress free” holiday!

My boss got me an action figure and a gift certificate for a sandwich shop around the corner. That was pretty cool!

Thanks, Todd. When I just want to hear it, I have the full length intro to the Drew Carey Show's second season favorited over at YouTube. :) I would really like to have the mp3 though, and you're right, you have to be more careful with that mp3 than just about any other for some reason - so many crappy rerecordings.

Thanks, Joe!

Thank you, Paul!

Walt - That is pretty cool!! Your boss knows and likes you, sounds like.

I could have sworn I left a response two days ago! I'm sorry.

Ally: That sounds dreadful!

I'm happy your Admin Day was nice!

9 to 5, great song and great movie too! I watch it every time I it's on TV.

Aw, thanks, Jenn! Yeah, I remember that movie being on constant repeat on the HBO of my youth.

Disclaimer:

Music is posted for a short time, and while I use it in part to (hopefully, though not always) go along with the theme of the photo, I also post it in hopes someone will give it a try and fall in love with it as I have. Perhaps they will then seek out more by the artist and buy more cds. That's how it works with me, anyway. If you like it, pick it up at the store; support the artists you love.
