Like I've always said, lightbulbs around the edge of anything in this manner automatically improves it's appearence no matter what the subject matter. Just a guess but was this maybe originally a really really wonderful old sign that along the way got junky and instead of replacing the whole thing they merely painted over it? Still has a nice vibe though.

Yeah, even when they've painted over the original, I still prefer the look of the old sign to anything new they'd put up. But I really hate it when they do that, and you're right, this one's been painted.

2 quick things…

First, do I see a church in the background yet again? Ha, ha.

Secondly, since it has been established that I have a skewed choice of music…and while you have done a great job of matching the photo with song, may I offer an alternate choice?

Chuck Berry is great for the ‘50’s part…but may I offer…Electric Light Orchestra “Ma-Ma-Ma Belle” or maybe something retro but in a different way…The Cars “Shake It Up”.

No, actually, that's the McConnellsville Opera House.

Not a big fan of that particular ELO song, and as for the Cars ... is it because of the milkshake on the sign?

I thought I'd stick with the '50s because it's a '50s diner.

Sorry. Hope I did not offend. Just a couple silly thoughts. Opera, eh?

Disclaimer:

Music is posted for a short time, and while I use it in part to (hopefully, though not always) go along with the theme of the photo, I also post it in hopes someone will give it a try and fall in love with it as I have. Perhaps they will then seek out more by the artist and buy more cds. That's how it works with me, anyway. If you like it, pick it up at the store; support the artists you love.
