Damn Damn Damn

Well, Tom Waits will be performing in a scant 8 cities this month and next, and lo and behold, mine's one of them. And of course, despite hitting the phones the nanoinstant the tickets were available, I missed out. Within 13 minutes of their going on sale, they were sold out. I fear it's already to late to score any, too, because of the paperless ticket system they're using.

Damn Damn Damn.

Here, enjoy a mini-concert, she said bitterly.

And this week's favorite, the swingy

Anywhere I Lay My Head

And even though I've posted it at least twice before, a permanent favorite of mine. It'll be playing (only in the late hours, of course) on the soundtrack of the bakery I like to pretend I'll open someday.

Eggs & Sausage (In A Cadillac With Susan Michelson)

If you have an extra four large burning a whole in your pocket, you could still get seats in the front row. Oh wait, that's not really making you feel any better, is it? Sorry about that.

Seriously, though, it might be worthwhile to check around for an online ticket exchange, in case the prices drop to something reasonable a day or two before the show...

Sorry about your missing the opportunity, but maybe luck will wave it's unexpected wand in your direction.
I'd suggest, if you have time the day of the show, getting to the boxoffice as soon as they open (the day of the show). Lots of times, at the theater I worked at (Orpheum in Minneapolis), a batch of tix would be held for day-of-show sales... usually at the artists request, and unadvertised.

Anyhum...
Thanks for your pix and (song) picks. It's always nice to check out your site!

That's a thought, Greg ... (an extra four large? I only wish!)

Matt, thanks for the idea - I might just try it. And thanks for the kind words!

Sorry you didn't get the tickets! Don't give up though, as other people suggested, there may be other ways to get them!

And you should totally open that bakery! I'll work for you... I mean eat all the merchandise... I mean...

Disclaimer:

Music is posted for a short time, and while I use it in part to (hopefully, though not always) go along with the theme of the photo, I also post it in hopes someone will give it a try and fall in love with it as I have. Perhaps they will then seek out more by the artist and buy more cds. That's how it works with me, anyway. If you like it, pick it up at the store; support the artists you love.
